Cello Masterclass with Joely Koos

Huge thanks to everyone who attended our masterclass with Joely Koos, Professor of Cello at Trinity Laban Conservatoire.

Five very impressive students enjoyed a half hour session each, gaining valuable feedback and suggestions to refine their technical skills, artistic expression, interpretation, and stage presence. observed by a fully-engaged audience. They were aged between 10 and 15, ranging from grade 3 to grade 8, and everything was free of charge thanks to generous support from KCC.

Joely Koos has established herself as a versatile and compelling performer, pursuing a varied musical career as soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player. She enjoys an active teaching career as professor of cello at Trinity Laban Conservatoire and as teacher at Eton College, She is founder and Course Director for "Cello Dynamo", an annual intensive residential cello course, and joint Artistic Director for the St Endellion Summer Music Festival.

Joely has appeared as soloist with several orchestras including broadcasts with the London Sinfonietta, BBC Concert Orchestra and City of London Sinfonia. In the last year she has performed the Dvorak, Elgar and Brahms Double concertos and performed at several chamber music festivals. Joely is principal cellist with the English Symphony Orchestra, co-principal with the City of London Sinfonia, and regularly appears as guest principal with many UK orchestras.
